A Very Brief News Summary
There was an upswing in the volume of news content published on Fukushima during the last week. From new hot spots, aftershocks, explosions, contamination of workers, economic fallout and new disclosures of coverups on the scale of the disaster coming to light. Eleven Japanese Governors have demanded an end to nuclear operations in their Prefectures, while Japan’s Industry minister Banri Kaieda called for the reopening of all closed reactors. Meanwhile Hitachi-GE has gotten involved in the construction of a new facility in Lithuania. Not to ignore other news, the volume of nuclear stories around the world has also gone up substantially.
