Campaign Coordinator, Campaign for a Nuclear Weapons Free World Â
The Campaign for a Nuclear Weapons Free World (CNWFW) is seeking experienced candidates to fill the position of Campaign Coordinator. CNWFW is a new consortium of national, international, and local organizations and experts dedicated to raising public awareness about the dangers posed by nuclear weapons and supporting policies and practical initiatives designed to eliminate those dangers and promote a nuclear weapons free world. The CNWFW seeks to involve a diverse range of organizations and individuals in an effort to promote a public debate about U.S. nuclear weapons and nuclear risk reduction policies.
Under the direction of the four member Steering Committee, the Campaign Coordinator is responsible for:
- facilitating development of a detailed 2-3 year long organizational, media, and political strategy for Campaign;
- ensuring that CNWFW media and public outreach activities and projects are implemented in a timely manner;
- tracking activities, events, meetings of Campaign and member organizations;
- establishing and maintaining effective communications with and among members about decisions and issues related to the Campaign;
- convening of teleconferences and meetings of Campaign members and the Campaign Coordinating Committee to ensure forward progress on agreed goals and objectives and to help adjust and respond to external events
With help of consultants, the Coordinator will maintain an interactive CNWFW Web site and email list serve, coordinate and help produce Campaign-wide action alerts and collect/provide information resources related to Campaign issue priorities. The Coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining records of expenditures and preparing budget reports and program reports for the membership and project funders and for leading efforts to seek grants from institutional funders to support the ongoing work of the Campaign.
Key Qualifications: The Campaign Coordinator must have at least 4-6 years of relevant experience. He/she must be well organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and possess good interpersonal communications skills, excellent writing and speaking skills, including the ability to process complex information into simple easy to understand language. He/she must be at least familiar with the policy issues relevant to the CNWFW. Previous experience with online organizing a plus.Â
Salary: 40-50s, depending on experience; including health benefits and vacation/sick time. This position may be offered as a limited contract position depending on funding.
